GREENST D AND MD MACHINE SERIES

Two-Color Injection Molding Machines

Compare GREENST D double-color and MD mixed-color injection molding configurations. Final selection is based on the product appearance, material combination, shot requirements, mold sequence and target output.

Start with the molded part

D or MD Selection Begins with the Required Color Effect

A D double-color or MD mixed-color machine is not selected by clamping tonnage alone. The two shot requirements, material compatibility, mold sequence, part movement and target appearance must be reviewed as one molding process.

If the project is new, send the product sample or drawing and describe where the colors or materials should remain separate or become mixed. The missing technical fields can then be identified.

01

Molded Part

Drawing or sample, overall dimensions and finished weight.

02

Two Shots

Material, color and required weight for each injection unit.

03

Separate two-color areas or a controlled mixed-color pattern.

05

Output

Target cycle, hourly or daily quantity and automation needs.

06

Project stage

Existing mold, new mold or complete project.

Published D and MD configurations

Compare Double-Color and Mixed-Color Machine Records

The D record represents a double-color / two-color configuration, while MD identifies the mixed-color series. They are different molding directions, not duplicate names. Open each product record for its currently published information; final model and parameters must still be checked against the product, mold and latest official technical file.

Configuration guide

D Double Color and MD Mixed Color Are Different Molding Directions

GREENST uses D for double-color / two-color configurations and MD for mixed-color configurations. The correct direction is chosen from the required product appearance, mold sequence and how the two materials or colors must be delivered.

01

D: Double Color

Two colors or materials remain in defined product areas through the mold and injection sequence.

02

MD: Mixed Color

Two colors are delivered for a controlled blended, marbled or patterned appearance.

03

Two Injection Units

Each shot volume, material and plasticizing demand must be checked separately.

04

Mold and Sequence

Mold movement, runner, transfer and timing determine the final machine configuration.

Two-material production system

Material Separation, Mold Sequence and Automation

A two-color or mixed-color machine works as part of a coordinated production system. Both materials, the mold movement, cooling and take-out sequence must be confirmed before supporting equipment is selected.

01

Material A

Loading, preparation and temperature control are matched to the first material and shot.

02

Material B

The second material path and injection requirement are checked independently.

03

Mold and Cooling

Runner layout, movement and cooling must support the intended sequence and cycle.

04

Robot / Transfer

Part transfer, inserts, take-out and conveyor requirements are planned with the mold.

Factory test evidence

Real GREENST MD Mixed-Color Machine Record

This workshop image shows the dual material feed and injection arrangement of an IJT220MD mixed-color machine. It supports the MD series configuration and should not be described as a D double-color model.

For a new project, the two shot requirements, material paths, mold, color effect, cooling and automation must be recalculated from the customer’s product and production requirement.

Buyer questions

Two-Color and Mixed-Color Injection Molding Machine FAQs

Share the product drawing or sample, the material and color required for each section, the weight of each shot, mold cavities and dimensions, the molding sequence, and target output. These details are needed before the two injection units, mold interface and automation can be checked.

Two-color molding normally keeps two colors or materials in defined product areas through the mold and injection sequence. Mixed-color molding creates a controlled blended or patterned effect. The required machine structure must be confirmed from the product sample, mold concept and expected appearance.

The mold must support the required injection sequence, product transfer or movement, runner layout and material separation. Existing mold drawings should therefore be reviewed before the machine and mold interface are confirmed.

Yes. Separate material feeding, drying or temperature control, robot take-out, inserts, transfer, conveyor and other automation can be reviewed with the machine and mold. The final scope depends on the product and production sequence.
